1. Introduction

KUMAKIKAI, an app development brand operated by Yuya Nakamura (“we”), explains in this privacy policy how information is handled when you use Uni:Note Pocket (“the app”) or contact us about it.

2. Information we handle

No separate app account or login is required. Imported backups and information you enter or attach to support inquiries may contain personal information.

Imported notes, pages, images, PDFs, question sets and recordings, sticky-marker display states, reading positions, language and display settings are processed on your device.

Backup files

The app may access Uni:Note backup zip files that the user explicitly selects.

Those backup files are processed to validate their contents and make them viewable inside the app. The import feature does not send the backup contents to us.

The app also does not rewrite the original backup file itself.

Support inquiries

When you contact us, we use the content you send, your reply email address, and any device or app information you choose to provide to respond and investigate the issue. We keep this information for as long as needed for support, then delete information that is no longer needed. Records required for legal purposes are kept only to the extent needed for those purposes.

3. How we use information

Information is used to validate and import backups, display notes and question sets, play imported recordings, change marker visibility, retain reading positions and settings, and check backup updates.

4. Storage and management

The app stores imported backup-based data on the user’s device for viewing purposes.

If you choose a backup file stored in an external service such as iCloud Drive, please review the policy of that storage provider for how data is handled there.

Easy Backup checks and loads an iCloud backup shared with Uni:Note. When Automatically Load on Launch is enabled, an available backup is loaded at launch. This does not provide realtime sync or write back to iPad.

5. External services and disclosure

Easy Backup uses Apple iCloud. If you select another external storage location in the file picker, that provider handles the information. Inquiries use the email or other service you choose. Besides this processing, information may be disclosed when required by law.

Advertising and analytics

The app does not use advertising or usage-analytics SDKs, or AI generation/upload features. It does not create recordings, transcripts or AI summaries, or offer in-app purchases.

6. Managing and deleting your data

A successful import replaces the viewing data in Pocket with the new backup. A failed import keeps the previous data. Pocket does not change the original zip or notes on iPad. Manage and delete original zip files and iCloud backups at their respective storage locations. Local app data and external backups are managed separately.

You can use the contact option below to request access, correction, restriction of use, or deletion of personal information we hold, or to ask about the operator’s details. We verify your identity only to the extent needed to identify the relevant information and respond in accordance with applicable law. If we cannot fulfil a request, we explain why.

7. Changes to this policy

We revise this policy when laws, app features, or information handling change. We announce the changes and their effective date in the app or on the official website, and provide advance notice of changes that materially affect users. Where consent is required by law, we obtain it before applying the new handling practices.
